ARBOR Europe GmbH Mission Statement 2013

Performance and Sustainability

We are an expanding cooperative of athletes, designers, artists and friends, whose shared mission is bringing together forward thinking design, progressive technology and thought provoking art with the most sustainable production solutions available.

For those of us who snowboard, skate, surf or simply thrive on getting outside, protecting the planet is about the environments we use everyday. To that end, the Arbor Collective continues building on a 17-year legacy of supporting the experience with the most environmentally responsible, next-level product possible.

To that end, Arbor replaces as many environmentally harmful materials as possible with functional, ecologically based alternatives. We do this across our complete line. The mission is to deliver quality and performance with significantly reduced environmental impact. It is important to note that as of right now, it is not possible to deliver 100% “green” products. Reality is about taking steps towards that future. Those steps are what drive the Arbor Collective.

Having said that, Arbor’s not into being “green” just for the sake of being green. With eighteen years of sustainable design experience under our belts, we’re sure about one thing; people expect performance and relevance, even when choosing a sustainable alternative. To that end, we combine the latest technology and most powerful art with those eco-materials that allow us deliver better performing products. Form still follows function.

It’s also clear to us that the face of environmentalism is finally changing. A range of perspectives replaced the movement’s hippy past. Today the hardest kid you know can be eco-minded to his core. Arbor sees this as a critical change if respecting the environment is to remain relevant for the next generation. In the end, you don’t have to broadcast it to live it - it’s not about identity - it’s about values.
